The current payrate is $30.25/hr for day shift and have a $.60/hr shift differential for the "off" shift.

After 2 years, the person increases to a Journeyman 2, which is a base rate of $31.76/hr. The next rate increase will be $33.88/hr.

Client is associated with the United Steelworkers Union, and our negotiations are in August, so this will most likely increase. Contract history is to show a rate increase every year in August.

Summary Description:

Provide assistance to production crews in the maintenance of plant machinery, mechanical equipment and building. Demonstrated competency in all maintenance and repair job skills and abilities.

Essential Functions:

•  Ability to operate all key production equipment
•  Must be able to successfully weld and use a cutting torch
•  Complete all Preventive Maintenance tasks accurately and completely
•  Ability to perform rolling stock PM’s and major repairs without supervisory assistance
•  Ability to obtain correct part numbers and parts descriptions from vendor and OEM parts sources
•  Maintain an above average rating and history of quality work, while performing duties in a timely and cost effective manner
•  Demonstrated ability to utilize standard hand tools
•  Demonstrate ability to identify all major components of all production and facility equipment including: Inductotherm furnace, Sinto Molding System, Trudex/Summit pouring line, Muller sand system, Core Room, Wheelabrator/Spintrack/Gatebreaker units, Finishing/Paint, air compressors and Power distribution.
•  Demonstrate the ability to identify every minor component of all production and facility equipment
•  Demonstrate a working knowledge of all facilities support equipment including: compressors, air dryers, baghouses and induction furnace water cooling system
•  Demonstrate the ability to perform all core room machine PM’s and core box changes
•  Ability to trouble shoot electrical, mechanical and hydraulic related problems in a logical and timely manner
•  Ability to identify and basic trouble shoot Programmable Logic Controllers for various equipment in the facility
•  Keep tools clean and safe and wear radio at all times
•  Work overtime as required
•  Respond in a timely manner to work orders and management requests
•  Examine a variety of machines to diagnose trouble and recommend repair
•  Assist more experienced maintenance mechanics as assigned
•  Follow all safety regulations and Company policies regarding safety
•  Work around a wide variety of equipment, chemicals and machinery, must be aware of safety hazards at all times
•  Maintain a good attendance record
•  Keep work area clean and perform required housekeeping duties
•  Inspect own work for visual defects
•  Record data as required on all internal documents
•  Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned
•  Complete all job skills testing as required

Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
